Rosco Chroma Key Paint – Blue
Rosco Chroma Key Paint – Blue has been developed with input from video technicians to deliver exceptional luminance and color saturation for keying effects. This matte finish paint is ideally suited for blue screen applications, providing a vibrant, consistent backdrop for digital compositing.
- Finish: Matte
- Solvent: Water
- Binder Type: Vinyl Acrylic
Use straight out of the can. If necessary, dilute with water; however, note that diluting may result in less even coverage.
Ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and free from dirt and grease. Prime porous surfaces (except fabrics) using Rosco Tough Prime. For new plaster surfaces, first apply a commercial primer/sealer designed for raw plaster, then finish with Rosco Tough Prime.
Stir contents before use—do not shake. Apply by brush, roller, or spray gun in thin, even, uniform coats using a high-quality applicator. Use overlapping strokes, maintaining a wet edge and changing roller direction frequently to avoid patterns and streaking.
For repainting, it is recommended to re-prime with a white primer to enhance the luminance of your blue screen.
- Film Thickness: 2 mil dry film
- VOC Content: Max 50g/L

Important: Rosco Chroma Key Paints are produced in batches, which may result in slight color variations. Touch-ups might reveal visible patches due to these differences; however, performance remains unaffected.
