INSL-X® Prime Lock Plus Alkyd Primer/Sealer

INSL-X® Prime Lock Plus (PS-8000) is a high-hiding, alkyd primer/sealer/stain blocker designed for interior use and spot priming exterior surfaces. Its penetrating solvent formula seals a wide range of substrates, delivers excellent adhesion including over glossy surfaces, and effectively blocks common stains while providing outstanding enamel holdout. It can be topcoated with oil or latex paints and dries quickly for efficient project turnaround.

• Excellent adhesion to glossy and hard-to-coat surfaces.
• Blocks stains from smoke, water, tannin bleed, crayon, lipstick, ink, and graffiti.
• Provides excellent enamel holdout for uniform topcoat appearance.
• Fast drying - recoat in 1-2 hours under normal conditions.
• Does not raise wood grain.

• Surface must be clean and free of dirt, grease, wax, rust, chalk, and loose paint.
• Remove peeling paint and feather-sand rough edges.
• Stir thoroughly before use; do not thin.
• Apply by brush, roller, spray, or pad applicator.
• Do not apply below 45 °F or when surface temperature is within 5 °F of the dew point.
• Severe stains may require an additional coat.

Note: Pine knots should be spot primed with pure shellac prior to priming with Prime Lock Plus.

• Is Prime Lock Plus oil-based?
  Yes. It is an alkyd (oil-based) primer/sealer.
• Can I use latex paint over it?
  Yes. It may be topcoated with oil or latex paints.
• Does it block smoke and water stains?
  Yes. It is effective at blocking smoke damage, water stains, and tannin bleed.
• Is it suitable for exterior use?
  It is intended for interior use and spot priming exterior surfaces only.
