Application Tips & Techniques

For a flawless finish and long-lasting protection, follow these simple guidelines:

• Application Method: Use a fine microfiber applicator, as an applicator pad or sponge, to achieve a smooth, consistent layer. Work quickly and sparingly – do not reapply over the same area more than 2-3 times.
• Surface Preparation: Ensure the base coat (or paint) is completely dry. If applying over a freshly painted surface, wait at least 12 hours before adding Tough Coat.
• Layering: For maximum durability, apply two thin coats with a 2-4 hour interval between applications. In humid conditions, allow for longer drying times.
• Mixing: Gently roll the container to mix the product. Avoid vigorous shaking to prevent air bubbles from forming.
• Special Note for Darker Colours: When applying over darker hues, thin, even layers are crucial to prevent cloudiness or imperfections.

Did You Know?

If streaking occurs during application, simply reapply a coat of paint over the Tough Coat – a technique affectionately known as the "Tough Coat Sandwich" (Paint, Tough Coat, then Paint). This method is recommended for extremely high traffic areas and provides an extra level of durability.
