Roscoflamex PC | For Paper & Cardstock

Roscoflamex PC was formulated specifically to treat the many paper products commonly used in props and scenery construction. Most paper products without a wax coating, polyurethane, or other water-resistant properties can be effectively treated with this formulation.

Using Roscoflamex PC

Roscoflamex PC is premixed and requires no further dilution. The method of application and the quantity needed for sufficient treatment will vary depending on the material in use. Please note that some discoloration and wrinkling of paper products may occur as they dry. Multiple light treatments can help minimize these effects.

Coverage

One gallon of Roscoflamex PC will treat approximately 400 square feet (37 square meters) of 90lb paper. Usage may vary with the weight and thickness of the material.

Applying Roscoflamex PC

Dipping

This is the most efficient method of impregnation. Immerse the material completely for ten minutes, then hang to dry.

Brushing

Using a wide lay-in brush, apply the Flamex solution into the fibers of the material. Brush in a criss-cross pattern to ensure adequate absorption.

Spraying

In a spray application, it is essential that an adequate amount of the solution is absorbed. Keep in mind that a substantial portion of the spray may not reach the material. For best results, use a Hudson-type sprayer with a medium nozzle setting, hang the material, and spray in a back-and-forth pattern starting at the bottom and moving upward.

Certification and Testing

Roscoflamex PC has been approved for use by the California State Fire Marshall (#C-25001) and FDNY Fire Marshall (COA #5809) and has been tested according to NFPA 701.

Storage

Store Flamex products in non-metallic containers. When using metal sprayers, be sure to clean them thoroughly immediately after use—including nozzles and accessories. Avoid using metal buckets or paint containers whenever possible.
